@y2kenb @bedspolice We would always advise wearing a helmet and contrasting clothing during the day but recognise that is a personal choice and decision for the individual rider. Lights and maintaining the bike are however a legal requirement and will help prevent collisions.

@sadlystillserve I can confirm that not to be true. Our Operations command is joint with Sussex and our colleagues @SussexRoadsPol are just as proactive in hunting down drink or drug drivers as we are.

This rider was detected by #VanguardRST at 84mph in a 50 limit in fog whilst not wearing protective clothing 😳 He also had an illegally small plate fitted. Summons to court for the consideration of a disqualification, & a £100 fine for the illegal plate #Fatal5 – excess speed
