@AusterfieldM Both, the driver is responsible for ensuring the plates are road legal, the seller should not be selling plates that fail to conform to the legislation and will be reported to the DVLA.

This rider was detected by #VanguardRST at 84mph in a 50 limit in fog whilst not wearing protective clothing 😳 He also had an illegally small plate fitted. Summons to court for the consideration of a disqualification, & a £100 fine for the illegal plate #Fatal5 – excess speed
